The process of cutting out specific images or sections in fabric so the exact image desired may be used. This method is often used when details in particular fabric sections are desired, yet using the entire piece of fabric is not practical. Often used in art quilts to obtain specific appearance of texture or color combinations in single print of mixed colors. A great alternative to slicing off and eliminating portions of images.
